YEAR PLANNER 2001/2002

1- CHRISTMAS HANDICRAFT EXHIBITION

This Project is basically a Dual Purpose project : on one hand it is an experience to manifest boy scouts and girl guides Handicrafts and Manual Skills, and on the other hand it is a means to teach youngsters methods of self dependant Fund Raising .
DATE: 7th and 9th December,2001.


2- BUY MY MILEAGE

This Project is a Fund Raising Project, through which all Boy Scouts Troops (Beaver Scouts-Cub Scouts–Boy Scouts–Senior Scouts Rover Scouts) and Girl Guides Troops (Brownies–Guides–Rovers) 150 + members will SELL THEIR MILEAGE.
They are going to sell the Mileage they’d be able to run in a Competition Event, selling their Mileage to their parents, relatives, neighbours .. etc. The Fund Raised would be directed to establish a Scout Information Center( Scout Info Center ).
Date: 17th August,2001.


3- GROUP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

This Project is an Essential Project to maintain efficient relations with Scouts and Guides parents and through Parents themselves. This is a Multi-Purpose Project that would enrich the Group’s Public Relations and provide Creative Fund Raising projects, promote the concept of Volunteerism among parents willing to help and they’d be in charge of holding an Annual Group Gathering (AGG) for all Scouts and Guides parents.


4- WORKING AS VOLUNTEERS WITH NGO’S
SERVING DISABLED CHILDREN

This Project is planned from January 2001, where Rover Scouts are engaged in conducting activities for Disabled Children in two NGOs namely :
(1) Iman Wa Nour ( mentally handicapped children )
(2) Shams El Berr ( Blind children ).
One Rover Patrol (6 University students members) will dedicate their efforts to collaborate with Iman we Nour and the other Patrol (5 University students members) with Shams El Berr, with whom we are planning to conduct two activities experiencing modified Scout Activities to suit their capabilities and needs. Also the need to collaborate with Shams El Berr supervisors in renovating their New Home at 6th October City. It’d be a great opportunity to create New Horizons for those with Special Needs.


5- PARENTAL SUPPORT AND VOLUNTERISM

Within the Context of year 2001, the International Year of Volunteers (IYV), this Project is of Great Value to our Scout Group generally and very beneficial to overall Scouting in Egypt.
We aim to invest the capabilities and readiness of parents to achieve Effective Parental Support and also facilitate and promote their Intentions to Volunteer aiming at supporting various needs.


6- THANK YOU DAY

On the 5th of December 2001 Within the Context of year 2001, we aim at holding a Thank You Day for all Volunteer Parents and to conclude the International Year of Volunteers (IYV), trying to celebrate their efforts and contributions done throughout this year.


7- PROFICIENCY BADGES TRAINING

Proficiency Badges is a cornerstone component of the Scouting Method, aiming at developing Scout’s skills to be laid for the benefit of the Society. Proficiency Badges comprises eight categories for various hobbies and interests : Cultural, Scout Craft, Community Services, Scientific, Agricultural, Professional, Athletic and Artistic. This Project is to provide a Training Experience for Scouts on FOUR Badges : Handicraft, Plumber ( Professional ), Gardner ( Agricultural ), and Observer ( Scout ).
Date: 11th and 25th August,2001


8- FIRST AID TRAINING COURSE

Due to the Fact that some Scout Activities might be considered dangerous, so the need for First Aid Training Course emerged to build Leaders’ and Scouts’ knowledge and skills to face probable accidents. In collaboration with The Egyptian Red Crescent, we aim at participating with 25 candidates to attend Basic First Aid Training Course.
Date: Summer 2001.


9- ANNUAL SCOUT FESTIVAL

The Annual Scout Festival is an Old tradition of Scout Abou El Hole since it was founded in 1957, where we celebrate the Conclusion of the Summer season.
Group members hold an exhibition of their activities and achievements and a Traditional Camp Fire Party prepared during a whole month prior to this Exceptional yearly event and attended by all parents, other Scout groups and National Scout Figures.

11- PATROL LEADERS TRAINING ( ADVANCED CAMP )

Patrol is the building unit of the Scout Movement and Patrol Leaders (PLs) are the Cornerstone of the Scout Unit. They have an essential role in leading the scout unit and running various Scout Activities. Their Formation through an Advanced Training Camp is of utmost importance that ensures their progress in handling their task in leading their Patrols.
DATE : 30th AUGUST – 2nd SEPTEMBER, 2001


12- JUNIOR LEADERS TRAINING (Talee3a 3Olia)

Junior Leaders Training is Long Term Training Programme, that lasts for one and half years. Candidates to participate in this Programme are to be nominated by their Leaders, and only Senior Scout Units members (min. age 16 years) can participate in this Programme.
DURATION : July 2001 – January 2003
Camp Date : 18th - 21st JANUARY, 2002


13- LEADERS TRAINING CAMPS

SAEH Leaders Council holds TWO Leaders’ Camps a year, the first in June and the second in March of the following year. The first Camp is to Verify the Plan for the coming season and the second for Evaluation of the elapsed season.
Programme of both Camps includes Formation and Introduction of important issues and subjects that affect and facilitate their role in leading their Units.
DATE: 21st - 23rd JUNE 2001
28th - 30th MARCH 2002


14- ANNUAL GROUP TRAINING CAMP

SAEH hold an Annual Training Camp for all members. It is a mandatory activity to participate at the Group Summer Camp, to ensure member’s capability in practicing various Scout Crafts.
This camp will be conducted in two separate venues and two variable programs: one for the Boy Scouts Units (Cubs, Scouts, Seniors and Rovers) and the other for the Girl Guides Units (Brownies, Guides and Rovers). The Beaver Scout Unit is not included in this activity.
It is a four days Camp, where almost all Basic Scouting Crafts are to be exercised within the context of the program.
VENUE : Ain Helwan Camp and Franciscan Convent Elmokattam.
DATE: 12th – 15th JULY, 2001


15- TRAINING COURSES AT THE SCOUT ASSOCIATION – UK

After the Training Course that
Dr. Antoine Moussally
attended at the UK Scout Association last summer, the relations with the Scout Association was remarkably strengthened and he kept in contact with the Director of Programme and Development
Mr. Stephen Peck during the elapsed period.

Dr.Antoine Moussally proposed to Mr. Peck to attend as a staff member at a Section Leader Training Course and to attend the MTC-12 Course a Managing Training Course as a participant; and consequently he accepted him as a Trainer and Participant for both courses respectively.
Date : 4th to 8th JUNE, 2001 (L1 Leadership)
20th to 26th OCTOBER, 2001 (MTC-12)


16- TRAINING COURSES AT SCOUTS DE FRANCE – FRANCE

The relation between SCOUTS de FRANCE and Scout Abou El Hole was evidently flourished during the last couple of years. We proposed to collaborate with them and to benefit from their training experiences conducted for Section Leaders, and they accepted our proposal to dispatch FIVE Leaders to attend an Advanced Training Course for Section Leaders in France.

17- INTERNATIONAL CAMP WITH SCOUTS DU LIBAN – BEIRUT

The relation between the Lebanese Scouts ( Scouts du Liban - SDL ) and Scout Abou El Hole started in 1995, where we built very good contacts through their International Commissioner Mr. Rudolph Jabbour .
We received a Scout Group from Tripoli-summer 1999, and two other groups from Beirut-summer 2000.
This year we received an invitation from SDL to participate in a Camp with the Lebanese Scouts in August 2001.
This is considered the first International participation for our group members.
We intend holding a contest to choose 3 scouts, 3 senior scouts and 3 rovers who will form the Group’s delegation at this camp with a Scout Leader as head of the delegation.

18- INTERNATIONAL CAMP
WITH FRENCH ROVER SCOUTS – CAIRO

The relation between the French Scouts ( Scouts Unites Association ) and Scout Abou El Hole was evidently flourished during the last year. 15 Rover Scouts are visiting Egypt for a whole month on community service project, July 2001, and we proposed holding an Exchange Camp with them.
A camp for fours days aiming at exchange of Experiences in Community Service Projects, in France and Egypt. This would be an excellent opportunity as well for Cultural Exchange.

15 French Scouts + 10 Rover Scouts - SAEH

April 25th, Leaders' Council payed a visit to
His Beatitude Mgr. Stefanos II Ghattas to
Congratulate him on the ocassion of the Cardinality

and afterwhich we visited Father Iskandar Rozeik the Former Parish Priest and Chaplain of SAEH.
